The Blind River Food Bank
Volunteers prepare standard food hampers which are distributed according to household size. Each household receives a four-day supply of non-perishable food. Households also receive perishable food (milk, eggs, bread, frozen products) and fresh produce, depending upon availability.
New Clients
New clients must register in person at the Food Bank located at 183 Causley Street in Blind River. The entrance to the Food Bank is located at the rear of the building.
Registration
New clients must provide office staff with proper identification for all household members, including children (health card, birth certificate, provincial ID card, driver's licence, status card, passport ....). Our office manager, using secure computer software provided by Feed Ontario, will create a profile for each household member. Once you have registered with our Food Bank, the computer software will be used to record future visits for service. Client records are not stored at the office. All client records are password protected and only accessed by office volunteers who respect your right to privacy, Once you have registered, you must visit the office each time you visit the Food Bank. Our office manager will review your profile to ensure that it is up to date before you receive service.
Out of Hours Assistance
If you require assistance when the office not Open, telephone the Food Bank: 705-576- 2077. You may also contact the Food Bank by email: blindriverfoodbank@gmail.com. A volunteer will contact you and arrange to meet you at the Food Bank so that you can complete the registration process.
Hours and Service
The Blind River Food Bank is open on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. Registered clients are served once per calendar month unless there are special circumstances.
